Local Roots Food Tours
Overview and approach
When Dawnie Andrak and Tim Bailey purchased Local Roots Food Tours, they had a distinct vision for connecting locals and visitors with the best of what Sacramento’s farm-to-fork region has to offer. We worked together with Dawnie and Tim to create a brand and website that accurately reflected the bold, unexpected experiences of their food tours.
Featuring Sacramento's food scene
Inspiration for the brand came from passport stamps, as tour guests travel to different locations to try new foods. We captured the energy of the brand with a bright and minimal color palette, a fun tomato icon, and hand-made elements.
Local Roots’ bold personality came to life even more through the website. A mixture of beautiful photography and playful quotes, it serves as a playful invitation to visitors to get excited about choosing a different way to experience Sacramento’s unique neighborhoods.
Capturing the tour experience
We were excited to reinvigorate the brand with fresh photography intended to capture the Local Roots lifestyle, its destinations, and the unique feel of each tour. We wanted the visuals to represent the concept behind the food tours – the combination of food, beverage, history, architecture, culture, and accessibility. The tours are suited for people of all ages and palates, to which we wanted to convey with bright, colorful and approachable lifestyle photos.
Launching Local Roots
In the end, branding Local Roots Food Tours was about far more than just a logo design; we helped breathe new life into this already amazing business. To raise awareness of the brand, we invited select influencers from around the region to take part in an exclusive tour.
We created handcrafted, hand-stamped invitations and delivered them to every attendee, in celebration of the fact that each tour is a truly unique experience for each guest.
